Where the system is the product
Overdrive is an Intelligence Studio. They build AI-powered operating systems for venture capital firms: deal-flow pipelines, portfolio monitors, LP dashboards, sector landscape maps. Each one a system the client runs on every day, not a one-off automation.
Research is at the core of what they ship. Finding the right companies, enriching them with the right criteria, verifying the context behind each entry. The kind of work web scraping breaks on. The kind that separates a system the client runs on from one that gets shelved.
For a studio that builds systems, the research layer is half the product.
Before Extruct
A workflow is only as good as its upstream data
For an intelligence studio, the data layer matters as much as the workflow layer. A deal-flow pipeline is only as good as the company data flowing through it. A portfolio monitor is only as useful as the signals it surfaces. A sector landscape map is only as accurate as the research underneath.
A workflow is only as good as its upstream data. Sourcing the right companies, enriching them with the right criteria, verifying the context behind each entry: months of engineering before a client sees value. Get the data layer wrong and the system above it stays shelved.

The studio's old bottleneck was finding and qualifying the right companies for a client's investment thesis. With Extruct as a layer in the system, that bottleneck is gone, and the systems Overdrive ships keep working without manual research overhead.
