SubImage provides a fully managed cloud and on-prem infrastructure mapping platform built around the Cartography open-source project. It positions itself as an open-core alternative to Wiz and uses attack path analysis, AI asset inventory, and agentic remediation to identify exposed assets and misconfigurations. The company says Cartography was created at Lyft in 2019, donated to The Linux Foundation in 2024, and now underpins SubImage's managed offering.
